While I wouldn’t say this is the most exciting offer ever, I’m sure it’ll still come in handy for some.
Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold fast track
At the moment the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card (review) is offering Marriott Bonvoy Gold status, with the opportunity to extend it in conjunction with stays:
- Register between July 1 and September 30, 2022, by logging into your Chase account and going to the benefits tab
- Once registered, you’ll receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold status for a period of three months
- If you stay three paid nights booked directly with Marriott during that three month period, you’ll receive status through February 2024
Is this Marriott Gold offer worth it?
Marriott Bonvoy Gold status isn’t the most valuable mid-tier hotel elite status (status becomes much more valuable once you reach Platinum, where you start receiving free breakfast and earning suite night awards). Marriott Bonvoy Gold status offers perks like 25% bonus points, 2PM late check-out, a room upgrade subject to availability (to non-suites), etc.
If you happen to have Marriott stays coming up, then this offer is obviously better than nothing, since some status is better than no status. Just keep in mind that The Platinum Card® from American Express (review) offers Marriott Bonvoy Gold status for as long as you’re a cardmember (enrollment required), so that’s a much better opportunity, as there are no stays required either.

Bottom line
For a limited time, those with the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card can receive complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold status. The status is valid for a period of three months, and if you stay three paid nights during that period, you can receive the status through February 2024.
This is better than nothing for those who don’t have status with Marriott, but that’s about it.
Does anyone plan on taking advantage of this Chase Sapphire Reserve Marriott Gold offer?
